VC1 Standard Jumper Removal

Some VC1 units contain a removable standard jumper, while others contain a shunt jumper that must remain installed. Use the photos in this article to identify the two styles and remove only the standard jumper.

Important: Perform this procedure only when directed by Enventek Support or the applicable replacement instructions. Removing the wrong jumper can prevent correct VC1 operation.

Safety and preparation

• Stop the machine and follow the facility’s lockout/tagout procedure.
• Verify that the main machine power is off before opening the VC1 cover.
• Use a small flat-blade screwdriver and needle-nose pliers.
• Prevent dirt, loose hardware, and static discharge from entering the VC1.

Open and identify the jumper

1. Carefully remove the plastic cover from the top of the VC1 with a small flat-blade screwdriver.
2. Locate the jumper in the position shown below.

Compare the installed part with both reference photos before removing anything.

Standard jumper — remove

The following photo shows the standard jumper. If this style is installed and Enventek Support has directed its removal, grip it with needle-nose pliers and pull it straight upward without twisting the surrounding pins.

Shunt jumper — leave installed

The following photo shows the shunt jumper. Leave this jumper in the VC1. Approximately half of the VC1s in a saw may use this style.

Reassemble and verify

1. Confirm that no tool, loose part, or debris remains inside the VC1.
2. Reinstall the plastic cover securely.
3. Restore power according to the facility’s procedure.
4. Confirm that the VC1 reconnects in the software and that no new VC1 or communication warning appears.
5. Test the associated movement at a controlled speed before returning the machine to production.

If the VC1 does not reconnect, power the machine off again and contact Enventek Support. Do not move or remove the shunt jumper.
