NexPlate Daily Operation and Bin Workflow

Overview

NexPlate reads TPS files, selects the plates required for one truss, and places them into a dedicated bin in the selected stacking order. Keeping each truss in its own bin reduces mix-ups and helps assembly teams work from the top of the stack downward. NexPlate also provides production statistics and plate-inventory tracking.

Before You Begin

• Only trained personnel should operate or restock NexPlate.
• Keep hands, clothing, tools, and loose materials away from magazines and moving components.
• Do not bypass guards, sensors, interlocks, or other safety devices.
• Make sure empty bins are available and the route to the assembly area is clear.
• Verify that the required plate sizes are available before starting the job.

Daily Startup Checks

1. Inspect the area around NexPlate and remove loose items, damaged plates, or other obstructions.
2. Confirm that each magazine contains the correct plate size and that the plates are seated correctly.
3. Compare the physical magazine inventory with the inventory shown in the NexPlate system. Resolve any difference before production begins.
4. Place an empty bin in the designated loading position.
5. Open the approved NexPlate workflow and select the correct TPS job.
6. Review the job name, truss information, plate quantities, and stacking order before starting the first pick cycle.

Picking and Bin Workflow

1. Use one empty bin for each truss. Do not combine plates for different trusses in the same bin.
2. Start the pick cycle using the approved operator controls.
3. Remain clear of the picking area while NexPlate is moving or placing plates.
4. After the cycle is complete, compare the displayed pick summary with the plates in the bin.
5. Release the completed bin to the assembly area only after the truss and plate set have been verified.
6. Restock magazines only when the system is in the approved safe state described in your operator training.

Expected Result

Each completed bin should contain the full plate set for one truss, arranged in the selected order. The job statistics and inventory totals should update as plates are picked.

Stop and Contact Enventek If

• The selected TPS job will not load or displays incorrect truss information.
• NexPlate repeatedly picks the wrong plate size or quantity.
• The physical magazine inventory does not match the inventory shown in the system.
• A plate is jammed and cannot be removed using the approved operator procedure.
• Statistics or inventory totals stop updating.
• A guard, sensor, interlock, magazine, or bin-positioning component appears damaged.

End-of-Shift Checks

• Complete or safely stop the active job queue.
• Reconcile the displayed plate inventory with the physical inventory.
• Remove completed bins and keep the surrounding floor area clear.
• Clean accessible areas without reaching into guarded or energized portions of the system.
• Record and report damaged plates, inventory differences, faults, or unusual operation.
• Follow the approved site procedure for shutting down NexPlate.
