Scrap Belt Sweeper Adjustment and Inspection

Before You Begin

Safety: Stop the machine, follow the site lockout/tagout procedure, verify that hazardous energy is controlled, and release or secure stored mechanical and pneumatic energy before opening a panel, removing a guard, or adjusting components. Electrical work must be performed by a qualified technician.

Sweeper for the scrap belt

The sweeper is located under the carriage side of the saw, it is an angled bracket with plastic on it. The sweeper’s purpose is to remove the dust from the inside of the belt before it returns to the top side.

To adjust the sweeper, position the plastic so that it to rub against the inside of the belt at the appropriate angle to push off any debris that could potentially damage the belt when it goes around a roller. At times small chips of lumber can be pulled to the bottom side of the belt and those must be removed before the belt returns to the top side of the conveyor and causes damage to the belt.

There are two 3/4” bolts to loosen the sweeper and move it up or down in the slots to the appropriate position.

Confirm the Result

Reinstall all guards and restore energy through the approved startup procedure. Run a controlled no-load test, watching for binding, tracking changes, unusual noise, vibration, leaks, or unexpected movement before returning the machine to production.

If the issue remains, record the exact on-screen message, affected component, indicator-light state, and the last change made. Provide those details to Enventek Technical Support; do not repeatedly recalibrate or replace parts without identifying the cause.
