Teknic Motor Power Supply: LED, Fuse, and Connector Checks

Use this article when one or more Teknic motors have no power, will not enable, or show an unexpected status light. The power-supply LEDs, branch fuse, breaker, motor LEDs, and Molex connectors help separate an incoming-power problem from a single motor or cable problem.

Electrical safety: Troubleshooting inside the enclosure must be performed by qualified personnel. Follow the facility’s lockout/tagout procedure and verify voltage before touching wiring, connectors, or the fuse.

Power-supply indicators

  • A green LED near the motor-power wires indicates that the supply is operating and providing motor power.
  • An amber Info LED near the top-center of the board indicates a power-supply or branch problem that requires diagnosis.
  • If no indicators are illuminated, check the incoming connector and the breaker that protects the supply.
  • The branch also uses an 8 A, 250 V fast-acting fuse. Replace it only with the same type and rating after correcting the reason it opened.

Motor indicators

When power reaches a motor, the LED on the back of that motor should be green or amber depending on its current state. No motor LED while the supply LED is green points toward the branch connector, cable, or motor power connection.

Diagnostic sequence

  1. Determine whether every motor on the supply is affected or only one motor.
  2. Record the power-supply LED states before cycling power.
  3. If the supply is dark, have a qualified technician verify incoming power and check the protective breaker.
  4. With power removed and verified off, inspect the 8 A fast-acting fuse. Do not bypass the fuse.
  5. Inspect the Molex connectors at both the supply and motor. Each pin must be fully seated, locked in the housing, and free of heat damage or looseness.
  6. Inspect the cable for cuts, crushed sections, pulled conductors, or contamination.
  7. If one branch remains dead, compare its connections with a working branch without swapping components while energized.

Verification

  • The power-supply green LED remains on without an amber Info indication.
  • Every connected motor shows the expected green or amber status LED.
  • Connectors remain fully seated during movement.
  • The affected axis enables and moves correctly at a controlled speed without reopening the fuse or tripping the breaker.

If the fuse or breaker opens again, stop resetting it and contact Enventek Support. A repeated trip indicates an unresolved short, overload, cable fault, motor fault, or power-supply problem.
